A total of 240 wines from the three regions of Rioja (Alta, Alavesa, and Oriental) were tasted. Bodegas El Coto (Oy\u00f3n) and Hermanos Fr\u00edas del Val (Villabuena), both with three awards, are the most awarded wineries. El Coto won the ros\u00e9 category, all from the latest vintage, with Yursun Ros\u00e9 from Bodegas C\u00e9sar del R\u00edo in second place. The podium was completed by the ros\u00e9 made from old Garnacha from Bodegas y Vi\u00f1edos Ilurce (Alfaro), which also recently won the La Rioja Winegrowers&#8217; Competition in the same category.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1988938 sc_fly_static elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"1988938\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fe5579b sc_fly_static elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fe5579b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Among the oak-aged whites, Eguren Ugarte (Laguardia) took first place, followed by Mu\u00f1arrate from Solabal (\u00c1balos) and Abel Estebas from Bodegas Oliver Villar Estebas in Cordov\u00edn. Vi\u00f1a El Flaco from Fr\u00edas del Val was the best oak-aged white, followed by Amicis from Hermanos Pascual Miguel (Ba\u00f1os de Ebro) and Fern\u00e1ndez de Pi\u00e9rola (Moreda).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d36f2d0 sc_fly_static elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"d36f2d0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ad9b8c4 sc_fly_static elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ad9b8c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In the red wine category, the best young wine went to Cueva de Lobos, from Javier San Pedro (Laguardia), ahead of Lagar de Santiago (Bodegas de Santiago, in Ba\u00f1os de Ebro) and the wine Hermanos Fr\u00edas del Val. In the Crianza category, first prize went to Jos\u00e9 Basoco (Villabuena) for his Finca Barronte, followed by the Crianza from Fr\u00edas del Val and the Heredad Garc\u00eda de Olano (P\u00e1ganos). Valsarte, from Solana de Ram\u00edrez (\u00c1balos), won the award for best Reserva, ahead of El Coto de Imaz Selecci\u00f3n (Bodegas El Coto) and the Ram\u00edrez de la Piscina Selecci\u00f3n from the winery of the same name in San Vicente.
